UFC (Uganda Fried Chicken)

This email is from Monday, July 25th

Jebale!

Pretty nice week! Not a lot happened with the work to be honest, everything is still going pretty well, but we had a lot of fun activities this week. Friday is when we made the fried chicken. I had the responsibility of frying it, and it was my first time. It was sooo good. It was almost like eating KFC. It was great. Then on Saturday we had a ward activity. We played some fun games. We taught them, how to play duck duck goose! It was so much fun and I think everyone enjoyed a lot. The circle for the games were huge though! On Sunday we went and taught Herbert the rest of what he needs to know. He has his interview on Saturday and I am almost 100% sure he will be baptised next week. All in all it was a really fun and good week. Still working on finding some new families that are ready to progress.. The Lord is going to have to help us out and I know he will.

Well, I love you all and hope you have great week! Keep smiling!

Down with the Sickness

Jebale!

Well, it was an interesting week. As for my title it was not me, but my companion who was sick. Monday night, threw up. Fine Tuesday. Wednesday night, hell. We ended up going to the hospital early Thursday morning. He had food poisoning and a little typhoid. But he is doing a lot better now.

Well, that made up most of our week. Not much else happened. Herbert is still doing awesome. He came to church again. We went to teach him the Word of Wisdom, and ends up that last week at church he heard we weren't supposed to take tea so he stopped without being told more. This kid was prepared by the Lord no doubt. Also have been teaching Benson. He is way awesome. I can't remember if I told you about him. He is a husband to one of our Recent Converts. Well, the father to her child. I think he came back and wanted to be a part of her life. He has come to church the last 3 weeks and he is accepting the gospel very easily. Another person just prepared by the Lord. But they need to be married before he can be baptized so that might take some time.

I love you guys. I hope all is going well. Have a great week!

Herbert, the Man!‏

Jebale!

What a week. To be honest our teaching pool is running super low right now. We have been doing a lot of finding, but not having very much luck. I hope that we can find some more families soon.

Well, to explain the title of my email... Herbert is the best. We can only meet him once a week on sunday. He came to church again. We went to his house to teach him a lesson, and he ended up teaching us! He has been reading the Book of Mormon like crazy, and understanding it perfect. He writes down questions on any verse he doesn't understand. He has read all the pamphlets we have given him so far. It was probably the best lesson of all time! Needless to say we sat a baptism date on the 31st of July. So awesome.

Also, I got to meet the new Mission President this week! President and Sister Collings are awesome! They are super young, but I felt the spirit super strong when he was speaking to us. We had a really great Zone Conference. The APs gave a training on Teaching by the Spirit. It was really good. Just very powerful.

Well, that is about it for the week! I love you guys!

Happy Independence Day

Jebale!

Well Happy 4th of July! It was another great week here in Njeru. Living the dream!

Well just to start there is this guy we have been teaching named Joseph who has seemed pretty interested, but this week we met his son Herbert and he is way interested! We invited them to church and Herbert came! We are hoping we can slowly get the rest of his family involved. He seems very prepared though. I hope all goes well with them.

Also, Thomas, who came to church last week, came again this week! We taught him but he doesn't know English super well, but I hope we can help him. We have a class during church for English, so we will stick him in there and continue to teach him.

We found a new guy this week named Arasmus. He is hilarious. He is pretty old and We have run into him a lot, but he always says he is too busy to meet with us but we found him at his house. At first I thought he was going to bash with us but he ended up being really humble. He is way awesome though.

Not much else, hope you guys have a wonderful week! Love you!
