Miracles Do Happen

Jebale!

Great week!! Your prayers worked!!!! Nathan's mom said he can get baptized!! It really is a miracle! We sent our ward mission leader to talk to her about it casually (which he was happy to do since everyone in the ward loves him) and he just was able to get her to say yes! So it is a great blessing. He will be baptized on the 2nd of July. Hopefully with two others. Charles, who we have been teaching for a long time. (sent a picture like last week) He was taught by other missionaries awhile back and now he came back and we started teaching him again. He has a really funny laugh! He is always smiling. Also Geoffrey, the one who came back and visited the church when he came back from the village! So that is going to be great! We are also teaching a guy named Eric who we found at the hardware store next to the church and he is just awesome! Always happy. Sending a picture with him. This coming week we will be having Stake conference so that will be nice. Also did a lot of finding this week and got quite a few new awesome investigators, some even came to church. Everything is going great!

I love you all and hope everything is going swell. Stay sweet.

Mpola Mpola (Slowly Slowly)

Jebale!

Another week in the promised land. Things are going pretty good. We had a pretty slow week though. A lot of people have been bouncing us and what not, so it wasn't easy. Geoffrey (guy who came back from the village) came to church this week and he is very powerful. I think if everything continues the way it is, he will be baptized early July. Also had a guy come to church who we met on the street and he even brought his less active neighbors! So that was cool! Also there is a kid, Nathaniel, that has been coming to church for 3 years who is 12 and his Dad has been saying no to being baptized for awhile, but we called him and he said yes! But he stays with his mom and she had been saying we had to get approval from the dad and now that we have it she is saying no... But we taught him and we gave him a Book of Mormon and he was almost finished with the Intro before we left! So I hope his mom will soften her heart. Pray for it if you can. :)

That is the update! Thanks for all who continue to support me and pray for me. It helps. I love you all!

Love,

Elder Hawk

The Week

Jebale,

It was a good week! Not a lot to report. I went on exchanges with my son which was great! It was nice to be with him again for the day! The only big thing that happened this week is that we had this guy that we taught for awhile, come back from the village. We had almost forgotten about him, but when he came back he just showed up at the church. He seems very serious, and hopefully it all works out. We also did a Mormon Helping Hand project at a local Hospital. Other than that the work is pushing forward. We are having a lot of really good people who are progressing well in lessons, but will not come to church, and we aren't sure why. Hopefully we can figure it all out.

I love you all, Thanks for all your love and support.

Love, Elder Hawk

Focus on Christ

Jebale!

Well, it was a pretty good week. The first week of the transfer is always kind of slow.. But it was a good one! We were able to get some good work done. It will take about 3 weeks for Rosemary and Habib to get married, and it will take Amos much longer, since his wife lives way out in the west. But they will make it through. We have some people coming up in the next two or three weeks. Have a guy named Charles, who was being taught, but then went to the village for awhile, but now he is back and is on track for baptism. We were teaching this guy named Julius, and he would be baptized soon, but he had to go work in the garden in the Northwest for like 20 days, but when he comes back he should be good to go. Mukono is doing great!

One thing President Collings has been having us do is focus more on Christ. We have been doing the Jesus Christ Topical Guide challenge and then he challenged us to memorize The Living Christ last transfer, and it has had a great impact on me so far. One scripture I like this week when I was studying "Jesus Christ, Relationship with the Father" was John 3:17. The verse before is very famous, but I like this one added on. It talks about how Christ Came not to condemn the world, but to save it. I feel like sometimes we forget that. We feel like we aren't good enough, or that we will never measure up and that Christ is just looking for any small thing so he can decline us entrance into the Celestial Kingdom, but he is actually always stretching his hand out beckoning us to come to him and be saved. Even as we look at others, we have a tendency to judge, condemning them for their sins.. but instead we should look at them as Christ sees them. That they have the potential of repenting and being saved. Just a small thought.

Well, I love you all. Keep being awesome!
